Russian Volume is the name of a technique that originated from Russia where a bouquet of eyelash extensions are hand created by fanning out 2 or more lashes and placing them on a single natural eyelash; this bouquet of lashes is called a fan. The bigger the fan, the fuller the sets. A fan that contains 2 extensions would be 2 Dimensional (2D), a fan that contains 3 extensions would be 3 Dimensional (3D), a fan that contains 10 extensions would be considered 10 Dimensional (10D) and so on. The Russian Volume technique can only be done by using specifically fine extensions, finer than natural hair! This enables safe, fuller sets with zero damage to the natural lash.

Each fan is handmade during your appointment and are created before being placed on each of your natural lashes. As this technique is made on the spot, each fan is dipped into fresh glue before placing on each natural lash. This allows the base of the fan to be manipulated in a way that enables each extension to wrap and hug the natural lash, creating a stronger bond that increases longevity and retention of your sets.

The Russian Volume technique can often be mistaken for pre-made or cluster eyelash extensions. These types of extensions come pre-made and pre-glued or pre-heat bonded at the base. These require no extra skill to apply than what a beginner technician will learn. Pre-made fans are pre-bonded, typically with glue. At application, they will need to be re-dipped in fresh glue to be then placed on the natural lash. This puts strain on the natural lash as most technicians don't account for the double amount of glue.
The Russian Volume technique is a very delicate and intricate technique to master. It requires precision, patience, and lots of practice. Eyelash technicians who have perfected this skill can charge a more premium price than other technicians. Ensuring you find the right technician for you requires ample research - don't be afraid to ask questions! Russian Volume lashes provide full, voluminous sets, especially for clients who have naturally sparse lashes. Due to the light weight and unique 'wrap' technique, they are known to last longer than other sets. How could this technique not sound inviting?!
